When is the Dead as Disco full release date?

Does Dead as Disco work on Steam Deck?
Yes! Dead as Disco is Steam Deck Verified. It runs natively on the Steam Deck and has been tested and approved by Valve. Custom song import on Steam Deck requires Desktop Mode — see our Import Guide for the full steps.
Is Dead as Disco on Mac or Linux?
Dead as Disco does not have a native Mac or Linux build. Mac users may be able to run it via CrossOver or through Parallels with Windows. Linux users can try Steam Play (Proton) — check ProtonDB.com for community compatibility reports.
Does Dead as Disco support controller?
Yes. Dead as Disco fully supports Xbox, PlayStation, and generic gamepads. Most players recommend playing with a controller for the Windmill and Fever Rush inputs. Keyboard + mouse is also fully supported and rebindable.
Can you use Spotify songs in Dead as Disco?
Dead as Disco does not natively connect to Spotify. You need local MP3 files. You can find legal MP3 downloads via purchased music (Bandcamp, Amazon Music, etc.). Always respect copyright laws in your region when obtaining audio files.
Is Dead as Disco coming to Nintendo Switch or Switch 2?
No Switch version has been announced. Given the performance requirements of the Unreal Engine build, a Switch port would be technically challenging, though not impossible. Watch official channels for any announcements.
Is there a Dead as Disco mobile version?
There is no mobile (iOS/Android) version of Dead as Disco and none has been announced.
What is the Dead as Disco age rating?
Dead as Disco features stylized cartoon violence, strong language in its music tracks, and dark themes. It has not yet received an official ESRB rating at time of writing. Based on its content, it is appropriate for ages 16+ (similar to PEGI 16 or ESRB Teen/Mature).
Gameplay & features
Does Dead as Disco have multiplayer or co-op?
Yes — Dead as Disco supports 1–2 player co-op (local split-screen and online co-op depending on what's available in your build). Check the Steam store page and patch notes for the latest online features.
How long is Dead as Disco?
Early Access (four Idol bosses) is often roughly 4–8 hours depending on skill and side goals. Infinite Disco and replay chasing ranks adds a lot more time. Final story length will grow as updates ship — watch official news for roadmap details.
Is Dead as Disco like Hi-Fi Rush?
If you liked Hi-Fi Rush, you'll recognise the rhythm-combat vibe — but Dead as Disco pushes parries, punish windows, and scoring harder. Think rhythm action with a heavier brawler feel.
Does Dead as Disco have a story mode?
Yes. You'll play through a narrative campaign around Charlie's return, with hub moments and boss-focused story beats. Early Access covers the opening arc; more arrives as development continues.
Can I play Dead as Disco without a music background?
Absolutely. The tutorial and on-screen cues help you feel the beat even if you've never touched an instrument.
What is The Encore in Dead as Disco?
The Encore is your hub between fights — a nightclub-style space where you spend Fan Energy, tune your build, and uncover story details as you progress.
Is there a difficulty setting in Dead as Disco?
Expect accessibility options rather than classic Easy/Normal sliders — for example timing assists and toggles that make parries or windows more forgiving. See in-game Settings for what's available in your version.
Who made Dead as Disco?
Dead as Disco is developed by Brain Jar Games, Inc. Follow the official site and Steam hub for credits, updates, and announcements.

Infinite Disco / imports
What audio formats does Dead as Disco support for import?
Dead as Disco primarily supports MP3 format for song import. Other formats (AAC, FLAC, OGG, WAV) may work but are not officially guaranteed. Convert to MP3 first if you encounter import errors.
My imported song is out of sync — how do I fix it?
This is usually a lag offset issue. Open the track settings and adjust the Lag value. Try +20ms and -20ms first to determine which direction feels better, then fine-tune from there. Most users need between 0ms and 60ms. Bluetooth headphones typically need higher offset (80–120ms).
What is the best BPM range for Dead as Disco?
Songs between 120–200 BPM feel the most natural with the Beat Kune Do combat system. Below 90 BPM, gaps between beats feel too long and combat loses momentum. Above 200 BPM, you'll need exceptional precision — great for challenges but not recommended for learning.
Can I add my own music on Steam Deck?
Yes. Switch to Desktop Mode on the Steam Deck, open Dolphin file manager, navigate to Z: drive → home → deck, and place your MP3 files there. Return to Game Mode and launch Dead as Disco — your songs will appear in Infinite Disco.
What is BB Mode in the Advanced Editor?
BB Mode (Beat-Based Mode) allows you to input a BPM at half or double the song's actual tempo. This is useful for very fast songs (200+ BPM) where inputting at half speed makes manual beat editing more manageable, or for very slow ballads that need more beat density.
Where can I download pre-made beatmaps for Dead as Disco?
DiscoMaps.com is the main community hub for sharing Dead as Disco beatmaps. You can download .dsc files created by other players for popular songs, import them directly via the Advanced Editor, and skip manual calibration.
What is the maximum song length for import?
There isn't a strict maximum song length players commonly hit. Very long tracks (over ~10 minutes) may load slower in the Advanced Editor timeline.
Can I use instrumental tracks without drums?
Yes, but they usually need manual beat placement in the Advanced Editor. Without a strong percussive pulse, auto-BPM may struggle — place markers on clear accents in the waveform.
